We were recently involved in the work to refurbish Poynton Civil Hall and Library in Cheshire.
Appointed by the contractor who was overseeing all the works, we installed Gradus Barrier Matting to the building’s entrance.
The entrance to any busy public building should be fitted with suitable flooring that can take the heavy footfall and withstand all weather conditions. As the space serves as a shared entrance for both the civic hall and library, that’s a lot of foot and wheeled traffic to negotiate and potential wear and tear.
Gradus are specialists in this sort of product and their Esplanade 8000 Matting “Suitable for use in the most demanding interior and exterior environments where cleaning and drying of heavy foot and heavy wheeled traffic is required” does just the job.
The mat is made from robust materials, put together in such a way to offer optimum soil and moisture retention. The rugged grooves of the design allow for dirt to be scrapped off shoes and wheels (children’s pushchairs, wheelchairs and trolleys) and not carried through into the main building.
These features have safety at the forefront of their design, a trait common in all Gradus Barrier Matting Systems. Users can be safe in the knowledge that the floor covering offers a complex safety mechanism that prevents wet floors and slips and trips further inside the building, and also preserves the life of the internal flooring by catching debris at the point of entry.
