Waste flooring: we’re committed to recycling!

The flooring industry is celebrating the achievements of waste flooring company Recofloor, the scheme which diverts vinyl flooring from landfill by taking it back and recycling it. Since its inception in 2009 the initiative has collected enough waste flooring to cover 73 football pitches!

At Branagan Flooring we are committed to recycling as much waste flooring as possible and are members of many sustainable schemes including Recofloor. We are an official drop-off point and collectors for the scheme, meaning other flooring contractors can leave their vinyl flooring waste with us for responsible recycling. Our contribution has been recognised by Recofloor who have awarded us with a silver award for our recycling efforts in their 2013 and 2014 annual awards ceremony.

The Recofloor story is of further interest to us as the scheme is based in nearby Stockport. To read more about the vinyl flooring recycling scheme and its achievements there is a great write-up in The Guardian which you can view here.
